What industrial automation services does TechControl provide?

TechControl provides a complete range of industrial automation services, including PLC programming, HMI development, VFD programming, control panel design and manufacturing, collaborative robot integration, machine commissioning, industrial troubleshooting, automation retrofits, electrical design, and field support. We work with both new and existing equipment to improve reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.

How long does an automation project typically take?

Project timelines vary depending on complexity, equipment availability, and customer requirements. A typical project begins with an initial consultation and quotation, followed by solution development, electrical design, control panel fabrication, PLC and HMI programming, factory testing, installation, commissioning, and operator training.

Smaller projects may be completed within a few weeks, while larger custom automation systems can require several months from concept to startup. During the quotation stage, we provide an estimated timeline tailored to your project.

How much does an industrial automation project cost?

The cost of an automation project depends on factors such as system complexity, hardware requirements, programming scope, installation requirements, and commissioning needs. After reviewing your application, we provide a detailed quotation outlining the recommended solution, equipment, labor, and project scope. Our goal is to deliver the most cost-effective solution while maximizing reliability and return on investment.

Do you build custom industrial control panels?

Yes. We design and build custom industrial control panels tailored to each application. Our panels can include PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, safety systems, motor controls, network equipment, and other automation components required for your process. Every panel is designed to meet the operational requirements of the project and simplify future maintenance and expansion.

Can you integrate collaborative robots into existing equipment?

Yes. We design and integrate collaborative robot cells for machine tending, pick-and-place applications, assembly operations, packaging systems, palletizing, and other manufacturing processes. We can integrate new cobot systems with existing machinery while ensuring safe and efficient operation.

What industries does TechControl serve?

We provide automation solutions for a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, food and beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, material handling, plastics, warehousing, and process industries. Our experience allows us to adapt proven automation solutions to the unique requirements of each facility.

What PLC and automation platforms do you support?

We work with many leading automation platforms, including Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Omron, PowerFlex drives, FactoryTalk View, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, and other industrial control systems. We provide programming, troubleshooting, upgrades, and commissioning services for both new and legacy equipment.

Can you upgrade existing machines instead of replacing them?

Yes. In many cases, upgrading outdated PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and control systems can significantly improve machine reliability and performance at a fraction of the cost of purchasing new equipment. We evaluate existing systems and recommend the most practical upgrade path.

Do you provide troubleshooting and emergency support?

Yes. We provide troubleshooting services for PLC faults, HMI communication issues, VFD faults, network problems, electrical control issues, and machine downtime events. Our goal is to identify the root cause quickly and return equipment to production as efficiently as possible.

What areas does TechControl serve?

TechControl provides automation services throughout Canada and beyond. We have completed installations, startups, and commissioning projects from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Nova Scotia, and have also supported projects internationally, including work in Europe. We are available for both local and travel-based automation projects.
